About RockBochs

About Us

RockBochs was founded to help develop and solidify the open source market by providing specialized hardware appliances and consulting to Linux and FreeBSD software vendors. Whether you require planning, implementation, or support services...we are here to help!

The following are a small sample of clients that we have worked with on various projects:

FreePBX

FreePBX is the most widely deployed Asterisk based PBX application with over 1.7+ million downloads to date. With that kind of exposure and credibility, they needed a small FreePBX branded appliance to further solidify their presence in the open source telephony world. FreePBX turned to RockBochs to provide a complete branded telephony appliance for their growing client list.

Voip Supply

Voip Supply is one of the largest resellers of VOIP hardware in the world. To complement their current offering, they chose our PhoneBochs® PBX platform to resell to integrators and end users alike due it's quality and form factor.

Maurices, Inc.

Maurices, Inc. is a large clothing retailer with almost 600 stores nationwide. Recently, they were purchased by Dress Barn, making the combined entity a $1.1 billion dollar retailer. Amazingly, Maurices corporate headquarters are located right here in Duluth, Minnesota. With a company as large as Maurices, integrity and top-notch performance are an absolute necessity. With our reputation for providing high quality service and support, Maurices realized the time and cost savings by hiring us to provide service to all 575+ stores.

Tactical Satellite/First Strike, Inc.

When it comes to emergency response and disaster management, being thorough and precise are essential. Jay Sparks of Tactical Satellite needed a company to design, build, and maintain a robust and self-healing communications system designed exclusively for natural disasters. This means providing broadband internet in some of the most remote locations in the United States. With satellite communications through Tachyon Networks, wireless mesh networks from Motorola, and voice/data prioritization from Soekris Engineering, RockBochs has an extremely redundant, self-healing communications system ready to deploy anywhere in the world in the event of wildfires, earthquakes, hurricanes, etc.

Monet Mobile Networks

Monet Mobile Networks deployed the first commercial 1xEV-DO network in the United States, with offices in Kirkland, Washington; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Duluth, Minnesota. With LG and Qualcomm backing their technology, they blanketed several midwest cities with their wireless cell-based internet service. Even with a $40 million infrastructure built, Monet Mobile filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March of 2004. Due to the experience and expertise in liquidations, Monet turned to RockBochs for the liquidation of much of their equipment. We ensured adequate disposal of the equipment in a safe and environmentally friendly way.

RadioShack Corp.

After learning that RadioShack Corp. was closing over 400+ stores nationwide, RockBochs Inc. teamed up with Hilco Merchant Resources to liquidate three RadioShack stores in Minnesota. With Hilco being one of the top liquidators in the world, we leveraged our liquidation experience to ensure a smooth process for all parties involved. Tens of thousands of dollars worth of product was removed from the RadioShack stores, as well as the backroom shelving and display cases.
